The Taste of Paradise
Compared to frenetic northern St. Lucia, where major tourist destinations largely overlook the island’s natural and cultural native charm, the Soufriere region has plenty to offer, especially in authentic, unique cuisine served up in virtually every way imaginable, from upscale resort dining to beach-front cafes. If you prefer to dine closer to home, a number of local options exist for provisioning groceries and supplies and making your own culinary memories during your trip.
Some of our favorite Restaurants include:

Groceries/Supplies
There is a great variety of food options in and around Soufriere, but we have our favorites. The downtown Soufriere marketplace/farmer’s market is open from approximately 8 AM to 1 PM, and is great for fresh fish and veggies. There are a few small grocers in Soufriere and Choiseul if you need the basics in a pinch.
The widest selection of American food is available at the Super J store in La Tourney, which is on the way to the Villa from the airport (about a 35 min drive from the house). Super J accepts all major credit cards, so there is no need to exchange currency before doing your grocery shopping. We suggest that you plan to stop at Super J before heading to the villa from the airport—simply ask your driver (if you’re not driving yourself).
If you are arriving on a Sunday, you must make prior arrangements or plan on dining out, as all stores are closed on Sundays in St. Lucia.
